how can coaching help?
“Everybody deserves to have a career that they love; to feel excited getting out of bed in the morning. We don’t have to settle for anything less.”
Do you feel stuck in a job that bores or doesn’t inspire you? Have you spent years drifting through your career with no real sense of direction or purpose? Have you achieved success in your field, but come to realise that – as you imagine the next 20 years of your working life – you need something more to sustain you?
Perhaps you have a dream about how your career could be, but it feels like there are insurmountable obstacles in your way?
I’m here to tell you that it is possible to create a career that you actually love
I am a career coach who specialises in working with men who want to get back into the driver’s seat and take charge of their careers. By getting absolutely clear on what is really important to you, finding ways to manage the thoughts and feelings that can get in the way when we are making changes, and by taking consistent committed action, everyone can have a career that brings them fulfilment and pays the bills.
If you work with me you can expect more:
Clarity Getting absolutely clear on what you want
Purpose The motivation and conviction to start taking action straight away
Self-belief Breaking down the limiting beliefs which tell us that we cannot change
Passion Falling in love with your career and your life again
Most of us make vital decisions about our careers when we are young, motivated by money, convenience, the qualifications we got, or just pure desperation to get a job, any job! And then, when we decide that we don’t like what we are doing and want something else we make the same mistakes all over again – making decisions based on what we have done before rather than what we love and what really makes us come to life.
Coaching is about looking clear-headedly at where you are now in life and where you want to be, identifying what it is that you need to do to bridge the gap, and then taking action. Sounds simple doesn’t it? And yet, for so many reasons, people spend years and years yearning for change, and doing nothing about it, or finding themselves constantly frustrated. This is where a coach comes in.
A coach is trained to listen, observe, and be curious about you, your dreams, and your motivations. As your coach I will ask you the questions that you do not ask yourself – or that you ask but push away because they are too challenging to engage with. I will help you to unpack and make sense of the confusing barrage of thoughts and emotions that arise when you think about your life, and what it would take to make changes. I will challenge you to take action, and to move out of your comfort zone. I will reflect back to you the strengths, qualities, and gifts that you possess when you fail to see them. I will believe in you even when you don’t believe in yourself.
As your coach, I will challenge you to become the person that you know you can be.
Coaching is not counselling – it’s not about looking into the past to identify and heal old wounds. We probably will look back at certain moments, but only with a view to understand how stuff from the past may be impacting on your life today and – if it is having a negative or unhelpful effect – what can you do in the present to change it. Coaching is about living today, and creating tomorrow.
